Features such as the Electronic Stabilization Program and next generation dual stage, front and side mounted airbags contribute to the 2007 A6 nomination as a “Top Safety Pick” in the large car category by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).
Airbags

IIHS "Top Safety Pick"
The 2007 Audi A6 achieved the highest-level crash ratings from the Insurance Institure for Highway Safety (IIHS). Audi is the only European, and only premium, auto manufacturer to have two models on the list. The Audi A6 was the only car listed in the large car category.
