Audi biturbo engines are technical
masterpieces of the very highest standard: with
two small turbochargers rather than a single large
one, Audi has got the better of mass inertia. In
conjunction with optimised turbochargers and a separate
intercooler per cylinder bank, these engines ensure
a tremendous power output development. As a result,
the V6 biturbo in the Audi RS 4, with five valves
per cylinder, conveys to its driver in impressive
style what the word acceleration really
means: it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
and reaches the 200 km/h mark in 17 seconds. An
output of 280 kW and torque of 440 Nm across a broad
speed range from 2500 to 6000 rpm provide the basis
for a unique driving experience, with permanent
four-wheel drive providing the finishing touch.
Audi biturbo technology consequently stands for
the ideal combination of superiority, power and
responsibility. Thanks to advanced exhaust gas temperature
control with maximum temperatures under 1000°C
and two under bonnet primary catalytic converters,
compliance with the EU 3 exhaust standard is also
guaranteed. |
